Single CD Software Upgrade Procedure
|
If you already have WSM version R01.05.05
or later installed, you can upgrade to the
R02.00.07 application software.
NOTE: This procedure will not work
if upgrading from R02.00.01 or to R02.00.01.
A full install will be required in these
cases.
- Make sure the WSM is stopped (See Appendix
D ).
- Perform
an update license procedure, if required
(See Appendix F) .
NOTE: An update license
procedure is required if the WSM is being
upgraded from one major release to another.
Example of this type of an upgrade would
be upgrading from R01.05.05 to R02.00.02
or, from R02.000.00 to R03.00.00.
An update
license procedure may not be required if
upgrading to a point release within the
major release. Example of such an upgrade
would be going from R02.00.05 to R02.00.06.
Contact Motorola Support if you are not
sure if an update license procedure is
required or if you are not sure of the
current software version in the license
file.
- Place the R02.00.07 WSM CD in the WSM
CD tray. If you have an existing CD already
in the CD tray, follow the instructions
in Appendix D to eject
the CD. Login to the WSM via the “Serial
A/LOM” connection as “upgrade” user.
The password is “ 9avnrEty ”.
NOTE: Do not use a regular ssh session
because there are system reboots within
the upgrade procedure that will end your
ssh session. Using the “Serial A/LOM” connection
allows you to monitor the entire upgrade
process, without interruption during reboots.
- After
a few minutes you will see a license
agreement. Type ‘ c ' to scroll through
the license agreement. You will have
to do this multiple times to reach the
end of the license agreement. At the
end type: y [Return] to accept the agreement.
The upgrade to R02.00.07 will take
approximately 30-45 minutes.
- Install
the latest patch using the instructions
in Appendix
B .
- If you
are going
to turn on
IP security, you must generate certificates
from NSM even if you had generated certificates
before the upgrade.
- Upon failure,
contact Motorola
Customer Support.
The WSM applications
should start
up using the
default WSM
configuration.
Links to the
PBX, AAA, etc. will not be established
at this time
and dispatch/interconnect
calls with
not work. At
this time you
should push
the correct WSM configuration from the
NSM. This will
restart the
WSM with the
correct configuration
and allow you
to start processing
calls.
NOTE:
As part
of the
NSM-WSM
security
feature introduced in R01.05.08,
DHCP sever
must be updated to use port 5070
for SACS
URI.
This
procedure
will not
work if
upgrading from R02.00.01 or to
R02.00.01.
A full install will be required
in these
cases.
